Thinking about how all the art I love is a mash-up of disparate elements (e.g., Jeff Mangum reads The Diary of Anne Frank and somehow comes up with In the Aeroplane Over the Sea .. or Lin-Manuel Miranda reads Chernow’s Hamilton and somehow comes up with a hip-hop musical .. or Sturgill Simpson from High Top Mountain all the way through to Sound & Fury, with all the coal songs and Motown horns and anime and homages to Kurt Cobain and When In Rome and hallucinogens .. also the Bible and Zadie Smith and etc ..)
  26. Thinking about how I love art (How did that happen, I wonder?)
